What it does

CrewAI is an enterprise platform for building and running multi-agent workflows. Teams can use a visual editor or a code-first API to create role-based agents. The platform adds tracing, training, evaluation and governance features for production use.

CrewAI targets business and engineering teams that want agents doing operational work. You can start with a prompt and a canvas style builder, or write Python for more control. The pricing page lists a Basic plan that is free and includes a visual editor, an AI copilot, GitHub integration and 50 workflow executions per month. The Enterprise plan is custom priced and adds SSO, RBAC, workload identity, PII redaction and policies. It also supports deployment on CrewAI cloud, your own VPC, or your own infrastructure. The homepage says the Control Plane sits in the execution path of every workflow, with real-time tracing of LLM calls, tool calls and memory reads, plus human-in-the-loop approval gates. A careful buyer should note that the free plan caps executions at 50 per month, that enterprise pricing is quoted on request, and that some governance features are listed only for the Enterprise plan. The homepage also states that CrewAI is used by 65% of the Fortune 500, but this is a vendor claim.
