What it does
CryptoQuant provides charts, alerts and data feeds for crypto market activity and blockchain-derived indicators. Its free Basic API plan covers daily market data; on-chain API metrics require Professional or Premium. An account is needed for a personal access token and subscription features.
An exchange reserve and a trading-volume series answer different questions. CryptoQuant separates market data collected from exchanges from metrics derived from blockchain activity. Even indicators filed under market-indicator, such as MVRV and SOPR, count as on-chain data for API access.
What the API plans cover
| Plan | Market-data resolution | On-chain access | Historical lookback |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic, free | Daily | Excluded | 30 days |
| Advanced | Hourly | Excluded | One year |
| Professional | Up to minute intervals | Daily | One year |
| Premium | All supported intervals | All supported intervals | Full available history |
Basic includes 10,000 monthly API credits. Each metric must actually support the requested interval; buying a higher plan does not create minute-by-minute observations for a daily-only dataset. Premium carries a commercial license, while the other listed plans are for personal use.
To prepare a data report, choose the metric and its asset or exchange in the catalog, then find your access token in account settings. Set the date range and aggregation window when making the request. Read the returned status before using the dated values. Credits depend on the data and number of rows returned, rather than every request having the same cost.
Allow for reporting delays
The catalog separates blockchain delay from CryptoQuant processing time and identifies values that may be revised. For daily exchange, miner and inter-entity flows, CryptoQuant advises waiting until 01:00 UTC for the previous day to finalize. A freshly displayed value can change as blocks confirm.
Charts and email or Telegram alerts provide a browser route for monitoring selected metrics. A change in an exchange-flow indicator describes observed activity; it does not establish what a token's price will do next.
Strengths
- The catalog distinguishes data timing, supported intervals and revision behavior.
- Alerts can follow selected metrics through email or Telegram.
Watch out for
- Basic and Advanced API plans exclude blockchain-derived metrics.
- Previously served data can change before finalization.
Best for
- Analysts comparing exchange-market data with blockchain activity
- Developers building reports with defined history and update intervals
