What it does
CryptoRank combines cryptocurrency market data with fundraising, investor portfolios and token-release schedules. Public pages support browsing, while its data API has a free Sandbox tier and paid plans with different datasets and reuse licenses. API access requires a key from the account dashboard.
Use Coins for listed-asset prices, volume and market value, Fundraising for investment rounds, and Token Unlocks for planned token releases. These are different events: a funding announcement does not establish when an investor's tokens become transferable.
Developer plans
The v3 API separates tiers by available datasets and usage allowances.
| Plan | Monthly credits | Requests per minute |
|---|---|---|
| Sandbox | 10,000 | 10 |
| Basic | 100,000 | 30 |
| Advanced | 600,000 | 60 |
| Pro | 2 million | 100 |
| Business | 5 million | 200 |
Enterprise terms are quoted. Sandbox requires no card and introduces the data model. Basic adds market charts; Pro includes the funding-round feed, fund portfolios and detailed vesting schedules. Daily credit ceilings apply in addition to the monthly totals.
Generate a key in the API dashboard and send it in the X-Api-Key header. Existing v2 keys also work with v3, but the new API divides larger responses into smaller queries. Plan for the calls your screen actually needs, and check each endpoint's required plan.
Credits are shared across all keys on the account, while the per-minute rate limit applies to each key. Most endpoints use one credit per call; health and plan-status checks are free. The Sandbox and Basic licenses exclude commercial reuse. Higher tiers have different attribution and sharing requirements, so check the license as well as the request allowance.
Strengths
- Funding-round and investor views add context beyond token market rankings.
- The API separates market, vesting and investor datasets into individually selectable queries.
Watch out for
- A monthly credit allowance also has a daily ceiling.
- Sandbox and Basic data licenses exclude commercial reuse.
Best for
- Researchers comparing crypto funding with later token-release schedules
- Developers selecting market and fundraising data for a specific application
