What it does
Crystal Intelligence provides crypto screening, cross-chain tracing and investigative reports. Crystal Expert combines entity attribution with transaction graphs, while its compliance tools add configurable monitoring rules and shared case management.
An address label is more useful when an investigator can explain how it was established. Crystal distinguishes automated clustering from attribution supported by human verification and additional information. Preserve that provenance alongside the transaction trail instead of treating every association as equally certain.
For a growing investigation graph, turn on Auto-pin objects to keep existing and newly added items in place. Select a crowded group before running Organize Graph to rearrange only that part. Cross-graph link settings let a team choose which entity types generate notices when an address appears in another visualization. Including Unnamed entity keeps addresses without an identified owner in that search.
The graph can be exported as a single PDF for a case file or review. The layout is useful context, but the underlying transactions and basis for attribution still need to support the conclusion.
Screening has its own controls. Teams can set thresholds by entity type, add custom blocklists and configure transaction-pattern rules. Case management supports collaboration and escalation. Crystal's compliance FAQ says it provides the material needed to draft a suspicious activity report narrative; it does not write that narrative automatically.
The website directs new teams to Get a demo and existing users to Crystal Expert login. Use the demonstration to confirm the chains, monitoring rules, team access and report outputs required for your work. A risk flag or an exported report does not by itself establish wrongdoing or satisfy every reporting obligation.
Strengths
- Graph layout controls preserve context as an investigation expands
- Custom thresholds and blocklists can reflect an organization’s own monitoring policy
Watch out for
- Clustering and entity attribution need to be interpreted with their supporting context
- Suspicious activity report narratives still require the compliance team’s work
Best for
- Investigators preparing a traceable account of blockchain fund movements
- Compliance teams configuring wallet monitoring and collaborative case review
