What it does

Curve is a decentralized exchange with Stableswap pools for similarly priced assets and Cryptoswap pools for assets with independent prices. Wallet users can swap tokens or supply liquidity. Its Pools page also tracks existing positions and claimable rewards on the selected network.

Curve is particularly useful when comparing pools for assets expected to trade near one another, such as USDC and USDT. Its Stableswap model handles that case, while Cryptoswap serves pairs such as ETH and WBTC. Similar intended prices do not guarantee that either token will retain its value.

Open Connect Wallet, select the network and choose the sell token in the top box and the buy token below. Enter an amount, then inspect the exchange rate, route and slippage setting. The quoted rate includes pool trading fees. First-time use of a token may require Approve before the button changes to Swap; both actions are confirmed in the wallet.

Pool charges vary. The overview places most Stableswap base fees between 0.005% and 0.02%, with some reserve pools lower, while Cryptoswap commonly ranges from 0.05% to around 0.4%. Dynamic fees can rise when a trade worsens a pool imbalance, so use the actual quote.

For liquidity already supplied, open Pools on the relevant network. Your Positions shows deposits and claimable rewards. Supplying liquidity earns a share of fees but creates a pool position whose composition and value can change; it is a separate decision from swapping.

Best for

  • Wallet users comparing stable-asset swaps or managing Curve liquidity positions
