What it does

D5 Render brings imported architectural models into scenes with materials, lighting, vegetation and presentation tools. LiveSync connections keep supported design models updated. The free Community edition is for learning, personal work and evaluation; paid Pro or Teams is required for commercial use.

Community includes live model synchronisation, sky and weather controls, material editing and landscape placement tools. It can export images and panoramas up to 16K and video up to 4K. Its presentation allowances are limited to one panorama tour, one spatial tour and one interactive presentation.

Plans and output limits

Plan Billing Main difference
Community Free Noncommercial use and a smaller asset library
Pro Monthly or annual Commercial work, larger asset library and unlimited tours
Teams Per seat, monthly or annual At least two seats, team libraries, collaboration and up to 8K video

Pro includes 10 GB of cloud space; Teams includes 100 GB.

LiveSync works with applications including SketchUp, Revit, Rhino, 3ds Max, Archicad, Blender and Cinema 4D. Path, brush and fill tools arrange surrounding content, while section views expose the building's internal structure.

D5 Render runs on Windows and needs supported graphics hardware. The minimum list includes a GeForce GTX 1060 with 6 GB, Radeon RX 6400 or Intel Arc A3 series. Video memory affects the scene complexity the machine can handle. The Community output is normally unwatermarked, but use of premium assets can introduce a Pro-related watermark.

Strengths

  • LiveSync connects model changes with the visualisation scene.
  • Free Community can export 16K images and panoramas for eligible noncommercial work.

Watch out for

  • Client work requires a paid plan.
  • The renderer needs a supported Windows GPU setup.

Best for

  • Architects preparing interactive building presentations
  • Visualisation studios sharing scene assets and project work
