What it does
Darden Studio publishes families including Omnes, Halyard, Gamay and Jubilat. Its catalog links specimens and testers, while its FAQ explains installation, licensing and technical delivery.
Darden’s catalog connects each family to a tester, information page and purchase section. Omnes, Halyard and Gamay are organized into related families, while Birra brings together more expressive display styles. Open a family’s tester for the visual comparison, then use its Features & Glyphs and Languages sections to check the intended text.
In the purchase selector, choose styles first and licence coverage second. Basic desktop licensing is perpetual and counts computers; it includes static images and logos. Web and app embedding are separate choices. The current selector offers several year lengths and a perpetual option, with web tiers based on average monthly pageviews and app tiers on average monthly active users. For a site and app serving the same registered audience, the Fluid Interface option combines that use under its own metric.
Strengths
- Links family testers, glyph details and language coverage.
- Separates desktop, web, app and combined site-and-app uses in the licence selector.
Watch out for
- Web and application embedding require separate addenda.
Best for
- Brands planning both printed and digital typography.
- Teams deploying fonts through shared systems.
