What it does

Datakit's CrossManager converts 2D and 3D CAD files without requiring another CAD application. Its product options cover native and neutral formats and additional data such as tessellation and PMI.

Select one or more CAD files and the target format using licensed read/write modules. CrossManager runs on premise without an external CAD licence; format lists distinguish inputs such as native assemblies from outputs such as STEP, STL, IGES and 3D PDF. The standard Windows 64-bit GUI handles 100 files at a time. Advanced adds unlimited conversions and recursive folders; the separate CLI supports Windows, Linux and Mac for scripted/server workflows. Desktop/floating licensing is offered for GUI editions, with quotes by configuration. Quarterly updates and support depend on the maintenance contract. Datakit's host-dependent plug-ins and developer SDKs are separate products.

Strengths

  • Provides standalone CAD translation without another CAD application's installation.

Best for

  • Engineering offices exchanging CAD models with partners
