What it does

DATAROMA organizes reported stock portfolios from investment managers, with holdings, quarterly activity and aggregate views. Its public tables are available without an account or payment. The figures describe historical disclosures and exclude cash and bond holdings, so they do not represent a manager’s complete current portfolio.

DATAROMA labels portfolio updates by reporting quarter and update date. Check both before comparing managers, particularly early in a filing cycle when only part of the tracked group has reported. Its aggregate activity tables state how many filings currently contribute to the period.

Open a manager from Superinvestor Portfolio Updates or Superinvestors. Holdings lists the portfolio weight, share count, reported value and recent activity for each stock. Switch to Buys, Sells, Activity or History to change the view. The wider Activity page puts managers' top changes beside their reporting periods.

A useful comparison is the reported holding date against the later website update date. Managers usually disclose quarter-end positions during the following quarter, and a transaction could have occurred anywhere within the reporting period. A displayed current stock price is therefore not the manager's transaction price.

The public browsing path is free and needs no registration. Share counts are adjusted retrospectively for stock splits, while portfolio percentages cover stocks only. Cash and bonds are excluded. DATAROMA also restricts redistribution of its content, allowing small cited excerpts with a link rather than unrestricted republishing.

  • Disclosures lag the portfolio dates they describe
  • Portfolio weights exclude cash and bonds
  • New-quarter aggregates can cover only a subset of managers

Best for
