What it does
ESF Database Migration Toolkit converts supported databases and file sources through a source, destination, and selection workflow. It handles tables, data, keys, indexes, defaults, and field mappings.
Choose a supported database, file or ODBC source, select a destination, then map/select and convert. Field names, types, lengths and row filters can be adjusted before creating target tables/data, keys, indexes, defaults and comments. The Windows toolkit uses native database APIs and bulk insertion for its supported routes. Its trial requires neither registration nor a credit card, but output is limited to 50,000 records per table and migrated tables gain a TRIAL field. That is a changed dataset/schema, rather than an unrestricted migration deliverable.
Strengths
- Combines field mapping with schema and relationship migration.
Watch out for
- The trial limits rows per table and adds a TRIAL field.
Best for
- Windows users migrating between supported database formats
