What it does
DeepMotion Animate 3D is a browser service for extracting human motion from video. It combines character selection, motion settings, pose correction and animation output, with free non-commercial access and paid commercial licences.
After signing in, open Animate 3D's Creator, choose the job type, upload a video and select a character. Set the animation and video-output options, create the job and inspect the result in the previewer. The Rotoscope Pose Editor lets you correct body joints frame by frame, save those changes and animate again.
Foot locking changes the contact behaviour: Auto switches between locking and gliding, while Grounding allows sliding while keeping the character grounded. Other modes force locking on or off. Availability depends on the plan. Motion Smoothing has an adjustable strength; inspect the result because smoother movement can lose accuracy in individual frames.
A stationary camera, visible body and clear lighting give the system more useful input. It is designed for human or humanoid movement, rather than arbitrary animated creatures. Outputs include FBX, BVH and MP4; GLB output is available with custom characters.
The free plan is for non-commercial use. A paid plan grants commercial use for animations created while subscribed, including integration into your own finished works. It does not allow selling standalone animations, including versions merely retargeted to another character. Earned animation credits do not change those licence terms, and earned balances reset monthly.
Strengths
- Pose corrections can be made against the filmed movement before animating again.
- Foot-contact modes and smoothing provide separate controls over the result.
- Common animation outputs support work in other 3D applications.
Watch out for
- Occlusion and unsuitable footage can limit motion extraction.
- Smoothing can reduce accuracy in particular frames.
- Even paid commercial licences prohibit standalone animation resale.
Best for
- Turning filmed human movement into editable character animation
- Correcting captured poses and foot contact before further animation work
