What it does

Delve is cloud qualitative-analysis software for coding supplied transcripts and open-ended survey responses. It maintains a shared codebook, supports nested and merged codes, and gathers quotations with links to their original transcripts. Optional AI assistance supports exploration alongside the researcher's interpretation.

A Delve code page collects quotations from different transcripts while keeping links to their original context. For customer interviews, this makes it practical to inspect all passages about setup difficulties together and then reopen the surrounding conversation.

Import Word, PDF, CSV or text material. Delve recognizes common speaker formats and supports inline coding, nested codes and searches across transcripts. The codebook can change as themes develop, including renamed or merged codes.

For collaborative work, assign transcripts through the shared dashboard and follow each person's coding progress. Colleagues can code independently, then compare their selections side by side. Differences can be resolved on the comparison page itself. Project permissions distinguish editors from people who only need to read the analysis.

Monthly and annual subscriptions charge each editor; viewers are free. Projects, transcripts and codes are unlimited. The 14-day trial requires a credit card and automatically becomes the selected paid subscription unless canceled. A supervisor who only reviews quotations can therefore use view-only access, while a colleague changing codes needs a paid editor seat.

Strengths

  • Keeps collected quotations linked to their original transcript context.
  • Supports evolving code hierarchies and side-by-side team coding comparisons.

Watch out for

  • Every team member with editing access requires a paid subscription.

Best for

  • Research and consulting teams turning supplied interviews or open-ended responses into reviewable qualitative themes
