What it does
Depositphotos offers photos, vectors, illustrations and video for design and publishing projects. Its Free Files collection requires an account and attribution, while the wider catalogue uses paid subscriptions or prepaid packs. Paid Standard and Extended licences cover different types of output and resale use.
Finding a free file
Select Free in the search dropdown or open Images, then Free Images. Search by subject and narrow results with orientation, colour or portraiture filters. Free results have a green Free label. Sign up, choose a file and download it.
Free Files need credit to the contributor and Depositphotos, or a direct link to the file. They cannot be redistributed or resold as standalone files.
Paid image access
The displayed UK monthly unlimited plan is £25 a month. It includes image sizes under an Individual Standard licence. Prepaid packs are valid for one year and can use Standard or Extended licensing.
Under the paid agreement, an image that supplies the main value of a resale product needs Extended rights. Standard has a 500,000-copy limit. Individual accounts cover one person; Business and Enterprise plans provide shared access.
