What it does
DB UX Design System explains Deutsche Bahn’s shared foundations, core components and domain-specific extensions. Its public examples show how brands, tokens and component variants work together. Designers and developers can explore the previews without an account; patterns and templates are marked as coming soon.
The DB system separates shared foundations from the needs of individual products. The homepage demonstrates brand choices including Deutsche Bahn, DB Station, S-Bahn and a neutral style, plus a dark-mode preview. Core components sit above shared tokens, while extensions add standards for particular domains.
Open Components to change a badge’s size, content, emphasis and semantic colour. The preview shows text, dot and icon variants and states such as informational, warning and successful. For Developer pairs a button preview with HTML and CSS using DB tokens, including spacing and colour variables. These examples are demonstrations and do not perform the actions printed on their buttons.
The public site is free to browse without signing in. Contact Us is the route offered for further access and adoption information. Patterns and templates are labelled Coming Soon, so this is currently a useful system overview and component demonstration rather than a complete public template library.
