What it does
DesignersLab has a free mockup directory covering business cards, boxes, bottles, posters, signage and devices. Listings name creators and organise resources by object. The mockup category provides direct downloads without an account, while file formats and permissions are shown on individual resource pages.
Use the category search or choose a narrower object such as Box, Bottle or Sign. Creator names appear in the results, and the File Info panel identifies compatibility and any recorded licence.
Most mockups use Photoshop Smart Objects: double-click the placeholder thumbnail, place your artwork, save it and return to the scene. The Round Signboard example specifies PSD and Photoshop, with direct download and no email requirement.
Free download does not establish client-work rights. Some files are personal-use only, and the Round Signboard page explicitly says it has no licence terms on file. DesignersLab's own commercial-use licence applies only to resources carrying its Exclusive badge. Other creators' terms, including attribution requirements, remain separate.
Strengths
- Object categories and creator names make resource searches specific.
- The mockup directory explicitly offers downloads without an account.
Watch out for
- Some resources are personal-use only or have no licence terms on file.
- The site-wide Exclusive licence does not cover every listed mockup.
Best for
- Searching several mockup catalogues from an object-based directory
