What it does

Devicon provides technology logos as SVG files and an icon font. Depending on the tool, available variants include original, plain, line, colored and wordmark artwork.

Choose a technology on the site, then select an available variant and copy the corresponding code. A portfolio’s monochrome tool list might use a plain version, while a slide identifying a product can use its colored logo or wordmark. Not every technology has every variation.

For a local font setup, install devicon and include devicon.min.css with the supplied fonts. The site’s font example uses an i element and changes its size through font-size. SVGs can instead be embedded directly or referenced by an image element, using width and height for size.

The repository separates the stable master branch from develop, which contains work in progress and may need its font assets built. Use a release distribution when you want matching prepared SVG, font and stylesheet files.

The project code is MIT licensed, but the logos still belong to their respective owners. Their role is to identify the named technologies, and use must follow each owner’s brand policy without implying endorsement.

Strengths

  • Provides several visual forms of technology logos where available.
  • Supports local font files and direct SVG use.

Watch out for

  • Variant coverage differs between technologies.
  • Each logo’s brand policy still applies.

Best for

  • Developer portfolios and technology-stack pages.
  • Integration overviews identifying software tools.
