What it does
DEX Screener organizes blockchain trading data into market tables, token-pair charts and screeners. It helps visitors compare price changes, trading activity and liquidity across supported decentralized exchanges and chains.
Narrow a large market to a useful list
The public market table shows price, pair age, transactions, volume, liquidity and market capitalization. Select a chain and a time window, then change the ranking or filters to focus the list. The New Pairs view adds a useful starting point for recently created markets, with age and liquidity filters alongside activity measures.
These views can help distinguish a large price change from a pair with very little trading or liquidity. They describe recorded market activity; they do not establish whether a token is suitable for a purchase.
Understand what a listing represents
DEX Screener says its own indexer reads raw blockchain logs and processes them automatically, without human moderation. A pair appearing in the screener therefore does not mean its token or contract has been reviewed. The project also states that it has no official token.
The browser tables can be read without an account, and official iOS and Android apps provide another access route. For developers, the free API documents JSON fields for pair and token identifiers, prices, buy/sell counts, volume and liquidity. Endpoint details matter when deciding which data to collect.
Strengths
- Chain, time-window and liquidity controls help narrow the market table.
- Pair data separates trading volume, transaction counts and available liquidity.
- A free API provides structured data for external tools.
Watch out for
- Pairs are indexed automatically without human moderation.
Best for
- Comparing activity and liquidity across decentralized-exchange pairs
- Finding recently created pairs to investigate further
