What it does
Diffuse is a graphical text comparison and merge tool with multiple side-by-side inputs, editable line matching and repository revision retrieval.
Automatic alignment can be awkward when related passages appear in a different order. Diffuse lets you correct line matching manually, then edit the compared files directly. It supports an arbitrary number of side-by-side inputs, useful for inspecting several variants together. Repository revision retrieval and unlimited undo are also documented. The original SourceForge site lists version 0.4.8. The MightyCreak GitHub project identifies itself as a fork; use that project's own installation instructions when choosing its builds.
Strengths
- Manual correction of line matching
- More than three inputs can be compared side by side
