What it does

digiKam is an open-source photo manager and image editor with albums, tags, metadata search, color correction, crop, retouching and batch processing.

Find a processing set through albums, tags, dates or geolocation, then build its batch tool sequence. In the 9.2 manual, a saved workflow includes tool order, individual settings and queue settings. Name it once and apply it to another queue by double-clicking or dragging; the configuration persists as XML in your home directory. This helps repeat a chosen adjustment sequence across shoots. Check the queue's destination and collision settings separately before running it.

Strengths

  • Metadata-based photo search
  • Batch image adjustments

Best for

  • Organizing and processing a large photo collection
