What it does
DigitalNZ searches New Zealand material from many contributing collections. Its filters include media type, content partner, collection, usage rights, decade and date range.
A place name can appear in several forms across historical records. DigitalNZ supports OR queries and fuzzy matching, so a search can cover variant names before narrowing the period or collection. Select Images or Video to focus on the relevant media.
Stories gathers selected items with notes, making it useful for an illustrated local history or a collection of research references. The Usage filter distinguishes sharing, modifying and commercial use. The contributing institution’s item record supplies the permission details and available file.
