What it does
The Digital Library of Georgia searches historical collections by metadata, available full text or both, with browsing by county and institution.
Choose the search mode deliberately: metadata describes an item, while full text searches its scanned or transcribed words when available. A phrase search can be useful for a known name or expression. County and institution browsing provide other routes when the wording of a historical source is uncertain.
Wildcards and truncation are not supported. Use quoted phrases and the documented Boolean options instead, and inspect the reuse-licensed-items route when your project needs publishable material.
Watch out for
- Full-text searching is available only for items with scanned or transcribed text
