What it does

Bluefin combines spot token swaps, liquidity pools and perpetual contracts on Sui. The spot interface supports route comparison and limit orders, while Bluefin Pro uses a separate collateral and authentication workflow.

Bluefin's spot swaps and perpetual contracts serve different tasks. Spot exchanges tokens held in a wallet; perpetual trading uses collateral to support a position that can be liquidated when losses exhaust the required margin. Start with the relevant product rather than assuming that the same deposit instructions apply to both.

For spot trading, open Swap and connect a wallet at the top right. Google login is also offered. Choose the tokens in the Buying and Selling selectors, then compare External Liquidity with Bluefin Only Liquidity. Price Difference shows how the quote compares with the reference market price. Minimum Received reflects the Slippage Tolerance setting in the panel's upper right. Review these values before selecting Swap and signing in the wallet. Keep SUI available for network charges. Every pool swap also has a liquidity provider fee.

The Limit tab changes the order form. Enter the amount of the token to sell and the desired selling price; the buying amount is calculated from those inputs. Expiration is adjustable and defaults to three weeks. Select Place Order, review the details and confirm. The open-order count leads to the wallet sidebar, where Orders shows details and provides cancellation.

Existing Classic perpetual users have a separate migration route to Pro. The automatic option withdraws wrapped USDC, converts it into native USDC and deposits it into Pro. The guide uses 1% slippage protection and recommends manual migration for balances over US$10,000. Manual migration involves reviewing open positions, withdrawing Classic funds, comparing a wrapped-to-native USDC swap and authenticating the Pro account before depositing. Older Classic instructions that require wrapped USDC should not be used as Pro funding instructions.

Bluefin's access terms are broader than its homepage warning about US residents. They exclude relevant US and Canadian persons and entities, including residents, nationals and people located there. UK access requires investment-professional status. Other listed territories and sanctioned parties are excluded, and individual users must have legal capacity under their local law. Check these conditions before funding either trading product.

Strengths

  • Spot quotes can compare external routes with Bluefin pool liquidity
  • Spot limit orders have expiry settings and a cancellation view

Watch out for

  • Classic and Pro use different USDC collateral forms
  • Access excludes US and Canadian persons and restricts UK participation

Best for

  • Eligible Sui users comparing spot token routes and limit orders
  • Existing Bluefin Classic users checking the move to Pro
