What it does
Dolibarr is an open-source business suite with billing, bank reconciliation and double-entry accounting alongside sales, purchasing and stock functions. You can run the free GPL-licensed application yourself or pay a hosting provider.
Dolibarr lets you enable the business modules you need, then carry their records into double-entry accounts. Sales, purchases, bank transactions and expense reports can feed the ledger instead of being entered again in a separate accounting package.
Choose a predefined chart of accounts or create your own. Accounting numbers can be assigned while creating customers, suppliers, products and bank accounts, or added later by a bookkeeper through the setup pages. Before posting, use the accounting wizard to find input errors, correct the records and add the validated entries to the ledger. Reports then show the resulting balances.
The GPL-3.0-or-later software is free to download and run. Installation packages include DoliWamp for Windows and Linux distributions; the general web application also runs on suitable Mac, Linux or Windows servers. Hosted providers charge for running it, and commercial support or extensions can add costs.
For a first look, the Online Demos page offers a shared instance that is reset several times a month, plus dedicated trials from hosting providers. Dedicated trial lengths vary by provider and the listed offers require no credit card. Keep real company records out of the shared demonstration.
