What it does
Donetick is an open-source task and chore manager for individuals, families, and groups. It supports recurring and adaptive schedules, assignments, group sharing, task completion views, and self-hosted deployment.
Create shared tasks, assign responsibility, and schedule recurring chores daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or on custom intervals. Assignment rotation can distribute work among group members, and an API can trigger automated tasks. Donetick can be self-hosted; its AGPLv3 source is available on GitHub. See the official site, repository, and license.
Strengths
- Purpose-built for recurring tasks and shared household chores.
- Flexible schedules and rotation strategies help distribute recurring work.
- AGPLv3 self-hosting is available.
Watch out for
- Household and recurring-work orientation is narrower than full project-management suites.
- Self-hosting requires setup and maintenance.
Best for
- Families or roommates sharing chores
- Small groups coordinating recurring routine tasks
