What it does
Drip automates ecommerce email with triggers, decisions, delays, goals and exit paths. Registration starts a 14-day trial and does not require a card. Continuing use requires a paid subscription based on active people and monthly email volume.
Decide what happens when the intended goal is never reached. Drip's workflow guide explains that a goal can leave people waiting on an exit-less path. While still active there, they cannot trigger into the same workflow again. A delay followed by an additional exit can give them time to meet the goal and then release them. That is useful for a bounded follow-up sequence that should eventually finish.
Open Workflows > Workflows, choose + New Workflow and give it a name. Add its trigger, messages, decisions and completion paths, then enable the trigger when ready. Triggers act on qualifying events from that point onward; they do not enroll people who already met the condition. Accounts created after June 2020 have a limit of 50 active workflows. Check the current count under Settings > Billing > Plan Usage.
Subscription cost follows active people and monthly sends. The 14-day trial requires no card and includes the platform's features, although unlimited email sending is excluded. To continue, enter payment details under Settings > Billing. Without an upgrade, the account becomes inactive when the trial expires and forms and campaigns pause.
Strengths
- Goals can pull active contacts ahead to the intended milestone
- Additional exits can give waiting paths a defined end
Watch out for
- Workflow triggers do not retrospectively enroll earlier qualifying events
- Waiting on an exit-less path prevents the same contact from triggering into that workflow again
Best for
- Commerce marketers defining goal-based follow-up with a deliberate end for non-responders
