What it does

Dr.Wallet turns receipt photos into Japanese household expense records through human operator entry. It categorizes spending and offers manual entries alongside supported card and electronic-money history. Basic use is free, with paid item-level receipt detail and iPhone CSV export.

From receipt photo to a record

Submit one readable receipt per image. Operators transcribe it, and you can open the resulting entry to correct its contents. Income or purchases without a receipt can be entered manually. Processing is not immediate: the FAQ gives a usual target of 24 hours, which is not a guaranteed turnaround.

Reports and paid exports

The web version shows daily calendar totals and category charts. In the iPhone Premium service, Settings leads to Receipt Data and export; choose a period, output format and destination email address to receive a CSV file.

Submitted images are read by people. The FAQ excludes foreign-currency receipts and receipts in languages other than Japanese. Item-level transcription is paid, so the free ledger should not be assumed to include every product on a receipt.

Strengths

  • Human receipt transcription with editable entries
  • iPhone Premium can email CSV records for a selected period

Watch out for

  • Receipt images are reviewed by human operators and take time to process
  • Foreign-currency and non-Japanese receipts are excluded by the FAQ
  • Item-level receipt detail and iPhone CSV export are paid features

Best for

  • Japanese users who want help entering receipt-based household expenses
