What it does
Nik Collection is a Windows and Mac photo-editing suite with color, black-and-white, analog, local-adjustment, denoise, sharpening and HDR tools.
For a Photoshop workflow, the way you open Nik matters. Send As Layer can bring the effect back as separate effect and mask layers above the original background; opening a plug-in through Photoshop’s Filter menu does not provide the same mask-layer import. Keep the Photoshop file unflattened if you want to revise those layers later. The suite also has JPEG quality and TIFF bit-depth preferences, but the guide says its general format settings do not govern Export mode, which has separate controls. That makes the chosen host and return route worth checking before processing a set of photographs.
