What it does

Easebuzz combines payment gateway services with payment links, invoicing, subscriptions and payouts for businesses in India. A seller can collect through a shared link, while SmartBilling adds recurring invoices, instalments and reminders. Registration is free, but live services use an agreed commercial schedule after business verification.

For a payment link, create a request in the dashboard with its amount, expiry and customer details, then share it by email, SMS or WhatsApp. The dashboard records payment status and transaction history, so staff can check a collection without searching a message thread.

SmartBilling adds the customer and invoice details first, sends an invoice with a payment link, and lets the business set automatic reminders. It supports partial payments and instalments. Recurring schedules generate repeated bills; collections through an electronic bank mandate use the separate eNACH route. A repeated invoice and an authorized automatic debit therefore need the appropriate setup.

A company with an existing accounting or customer system can connect SmartBilling through its programming interface (API). The site also lists Slices for splitting collections between vendors and Wire for outgoing payments. Choose those products according to the money movement required, rather than assuming that an ordinary payment link includes every payout service.

Pricing is tailored to the business and selected services. The published onboarding route asks for an email address and phone verification, followed by the business's verification documents. Easebuzz then sends the agreement and commercial terms. Before activating collections, match that schedule to the gateway, invoicing and payout products being used.

The pricing page describes settlement on the next working day after the transaction. The actual agreement should establish the timing for the selected service, particularly where split settlements or international collection are involved.

Strengths

  • Payment links work without a separate merchant website
  • Invoice cloning and PDF downloads reduce repeated billing entry

Watch out for

  • Connecting billing to an existing business system through the API requires development work

Best for

  • Indian service businesses collecting regular fees
  • Sellers taking orders through messages
  • Businesses combining customer invoicing with online collections
