What it does
eduVPN separates access to an institution's internal resources from a Secure Internet mode using trusted gateways.
eduVPN has two stated jobs. Institute Access reaches internal resources, while Secure Internet routes a user's connection through a trusted gateway when using public networks. A university or research institution can provide the relevant service to its members rather than sending them to a consumer VPN checkout.
Begin by finding your participating institution and its configuration. The public project site is also a starting point for administrators considering deployment. It does not mean every visitor can obtain unrestricted consumer VPN access simply by downloading the client.
Strengths
- Separates institutional access from Secure Internet use
- Designed for education and research deployments
