What it does

eigenwallet, formerly UnstoppableSwap, combines peer-to-peer Bitcoin-to-Monero exchange with Monero sending and receiving. The desktop application works on Windows, Mac and Linux, with no exchange account registration. Makers quote their own rates and limits. Mobile support is still marked as forthcoming.

Compare offers before funding a swap

On Swap, open Click to view offers. Each maker sets a minimum, maximum, exchange-rate markup and possible anti-spam deposit. Query fiat prices in settings makes ordinary-currency values and markups visible.

The app swaps the full available Bitcoin balance, so the amount placed in its Bitcoin wallet determines the swap size. After choosing Select on an offer, review the Bitcoin sent, Monero received, final rate, network charges and anti-spam ratio. Greyed-out offers require more Bitcoin than the wallet currently holds.

The main app takes the Bitcoin side of the trade. A separate maker setup is for people operating a service that sells Monero. It is not a reverse-direction button in the consumer wallet.

A failed swap needs timely recovery

The protocol has completion, refund and penalty paths. If the swap does not complete, cancellation becomes possible after 24 Bitcoin confirmations, roughly four hours. After the cancellation confirms, the refund window lasts 144 blocks, roughly another day. The app must run during that window to carry out the refund. Missing it can let the maker claim the Bitcoin, and later cooperation is voluntary.

An anti-spam deposit is a portion of the swap amount, not extra Bitcoin paid up front. It has no effect on a successful swap. During a refund, that portion may be delayed or withheld under the maker's conditions.

The GPL-licensed client is open source, but exchange-rate markups and network fees still apply. Its separate EUR purchase feature uses SEPA and is advertised for the EU only. Keep the wallet recovery phrase under your own control; neither an atomic-swap design nor Tor access removes every risk of loss.

Strengths

  • Offers expose maker limits, rate markups and any anti-spam ratio
  • The recovery guide explains cancellation, refund timing and the penalty path

Watch out for

  • The app uses the available Bitcoin wallet balance for a swap
  • A mobile version is not yet listed as available

Best for

  • Desktop wallet users converting existing Bitcoin into Monero
  • People who can monitor a swap and its possible refund window
