What it does
Ek Type is a Mumbai type collective publishing fonts for Indian writing systems and Latin. Its catalog combines free, open-source families such as Anek with commercially licensed designs such as Sama.
For a site using Bangla, Tamil and Latin, Anek offers a coordinated starting point. It covers ten scripts and varies in weight and width, while each script retains its own typographic construction. Use the family’s script sections to examine the design, then choose Download Complete Family. The official repository also links to ready-to-use TrueType files in Releases, separately from the design sources.
The catalog filters by script and distinguishes Free / Open Source from Licensed releases. Anek uses the SIL Open Font License, so its free production access is different from a restricted trial. Those terms do not extend to commercial families such as Sama.
For paid fonts, desktop, ebook, app, broadcast and self-hosted web use have distinct coverage. The help specifies a two-year term for app embedding and self-hosted web use, and one year for an e-magazine title. After a successful purchase, it says the font ZIP and invoice are emailed. Some installation and software instructions refer to older versions, so they may differ from the menus on a current computer.
