What it does

ELLIPAL provides Titan QR-signing hardware, X Card NFC wallets and a companion app. Titan 2.0 costs USD 169. X Card options include a USD 69 single-card set and a USD 89 three-card pack, with different backup and approval routines from Titan.

Titan and X Card share a mobile companion but use different hardware workflows. Titan 2.0 has a four-inch touchscreen for checking transaction details and exchanges signing information through QR codes. X Card is a battery-free NFC card without a display; its Starter handles initial wallet creation and recovery.

Titan: create on the device, connect by QR

Create an account on Titan with a name and password, then record and verify the recovery words on the hardware. Select the coins to display and connect the wallet to the app by scanning the device's QR code. The app shows connected balances; the offline Titan does not independently refresh them.

Titan creates 24-word wallets and can recover supported 12-, 15-, 18-, 21- or 24-word phrases. An optional passphrase changes the wallet derived from the phrase and must also be retained. The device password is not a substitute for either backup. Firmware updates use a microSD card and adapter, separate from the QR payment workflow.

X Card: use Starter for setup and recovery

On Starter, choose a 12-, 18- or 24-word phrase and card PIN, then record and verify the words there. In the phone app, open Cold Wallet, choose ELLIPAL X Card, enter the PIN and tap the card by NFC. Starter is needed for creation or recovery, not for every daily transaction.

One card holds one wallet. Several cards can be configured as copies of one wallet or as separate wallets, so a three-card pack does not automatically mean three copies of the same backup. Ten incorrect PIN attempts reset an X Card.

The Android and iOS app is a hardware companion. Purchase and swap providers have their own fees and regional conditions; a hardware purchase does not include those transactions.

Strengths

  • Titan can hold five seed-based wallets plus five private-key or keystore accounts
  • X Card backups can use additional cards or the recorded phrase

Watch out for

  • X Card lacks Titan’s independent transaction display
  • Model-specific setup and recovery instructions are necessary
  • Starter must remain available for X Card creation or recovery

Best for

  • People comparing touchscreen QR signing with NFC card access
  • Users choosing between one hardware wallet and multiple card configurations
