What it does

Elorus combines invoicing with project time, expenses and a client portal. Teams can bill by task, person or project and let customers see the associated work. Both its Freelance and Complete product ranges offer a free account for up to five active clients, with paid tiers for larger customer lists.

Choose a project's billing method before the hours accumulate. In Projects > Add, Elorus supports a fixed fee, one hourly rate, different rates by task or team member, and non-billable internal work. Project roles separate managers with financial access from users who manage their own time entries. A client portal can expose project progress, tracked hours and shared files to the customer.

Log hours with the live timer or go to Time > Timesheet for a weekly view. With the necessary permissions, add a row for a project and task, then fill in each day's time. Hours already included in an invoice are shown as locked entries in that view. Chrome and Firefox extensions provide another route for tracking time while working in other tools.

When the work is ready to bill, open the project and select Invoice. Choose whether to include time, expenses and extra fees, then decide how the time appears on the bill, such as a line per task or person. This is useful when a customer needs to understand the charge without receiving a separate spreadsheet of every entry.

Freelance or Complete

Freelance concentrates on invoicing, income and expenses. Its displayed dollar prices exclude VAT:

Freelance plan Monthly billing Monthly equivalent with annual billing Active clients
Free $0 $0 5
Essential $12 $9 100
Growth $18 $14 Unlimited

One user is included. Additional users cost $6 each per month on paid plans, up to two users in Essential and ten in Growth.

Complete adds the broader business tools, including inventory and automation:

Complete plan Monthly billing Monthly equivalent with annual billing Active clients
Free $0 $0 5
Starter $9 $7 25
Standard $19 $15 500
Premium $39 $30 Unlimited

These prices also exclude VAT. An active client means one invoiced during the past 365 days, so the limit measures recent billing activity rather than every stored contact. Complete includes a programming interface (API); its token is managed through the user profile's API Settings.

Strengths

  • Combines billable time, expenses and extra fees in project invoicing
  • Supports task-based and person-based rates with separate project permissions
  • Counts active clients by recent invoicing rather than the total contact list

Watch out for

  • Additional Freelance users are charged separately even below the plan's maximum user count
  • Already invoiced hours cannot be edited in the weekly timesheet view

Best for

  • Agencies that explain charges by project task or team member
  • Freelancers who bill time and expenses to a small recurring client base
