What it does
Emby organises personal video, music, photos and supported live television sources and streams them to client applications.
Install Emby Server on a computer or NAS, add your own media folders and supported live-TV source, then choose client apps for each screen. Individual users and parental controls determine who sees the library. Emby supplies the platform, not films or a hosted server.
Premiere adds features including offline media, DVR and hardware-accelerated transcoding. The listed licences are for one household with a 30-device limit; extended options are separate. Some apps also offer an individual basic-playback unlock, so compare that route with Premiere against the devices and features actually needed.
