Answers use saved listing facts and recorded sources.

What it does

Encoding.com, presented as EDC by Telestream, provides cloud media processing through an API. Its services include transcoding, packaging, quality control, captions, and job orchestration.

EDC integrates hosted processing with a content system through XML or JSON jobs declaring source locations, transforms and destinations. A job can combine transcoding, packaging, captions and intermediate files; notifications/status queries track its progress. Registration supplies API credentials. The developer offer includes 1 GB of encoding bandwidth per month, with premium features and Vid.ly charged separately, plus monthly/prepaid/custom plans. The free allowance is bandwidth, not a per-input size maximum.

Strengths

Groups several video-on-demand processing services behind job orchestration.
