What it does
REScheck supports residential energy-code calculations for specified low-rise building types and supported US code editions.
REScheck-Web compares residential envelope heat loss with a selected supported code and generates reports. Its stated scope covers detached one-/two-family buildings and multifamily buildings up to three stories above grade. The main method compares assembly U-factor × area; for 2024 IECC the Component Performance Alternative also includes slab F-factor × perimeter in ft. The linked 2021 Getting Started guide documents registration, location/code selection, floor area in ft² and envelope components separating conditioned from unconditioned space. It also describes saved-project copies, View Only/Can Edit sharing and report completion after mandatory requirements are reviewed. The current page lists Web 4.2.0 and supported code editions through 2024; unsupported Desktop stops at 2015 IECC. Match the selected edition to the project jurisdiction. The current FAQ documents .rxl project download and warns that simultaneous editing can overwrite work; project files cannot be merged.
