What it does
ePayco helps Colombian businesses collect online and in person through cards, bank transfers, wallets and other local methods. Its aggregator arrangement uses ePayco’s collection setup, while Gateway connects merchants with their own banking arrangements. Registration is free for the aggregator, but successful collections have fees and the account must pass validation.
To request a specific bill by email, open Cobra, then Email de cobro in the dashboard. Enter the customer’s email, product details, amount, currency and tax. The customer can open the request and pay without your business needing a website.
For a customer-chosen amount, use Cobra, then Pago abierto. Supply the description and collection reference; the resulting form can be added to your website. After either route, verify the payment status, amount and live or test environment in the dashboard before fulfilling the order.
The aggregator tariff lists 2.64% + COP 690 plus VAT for a linked Davivienda account, and 3.29% + COP 700 plus VAT for other banks. It has no monthly contract or maintenance fee. Gateway instead needs a merchant code, installation and transaction charges, with direct bank deposits. Request the current written Gateway quote and the withdrawal allowance for your chosen bank.
For manual withdrawals, ePayco’s terms estimate 24 to 72 business hours after the request, subject to bank processing and any holds. Automatic payouts to Davivienda or DaviPlata can follow an assigned one-, three- or seven-calendar-day cycle. Check which payout arrangement is active before planning a supplier payment.
Strengths
- The subscription portal downloads reports of active, inactive and pending subscriptions.
- Subscription customers can enroll a payment method for automatic recurring collection.
Watch out for
- The tariff FAQ says ePayco reverses credit-card payments directly; refunds for bank-transfer and cash methods must be handled through the merchant’s banking channels.
- Manual withdrawals are unavailable while automatic payouts are active.
Best for
- Colombian businesses collecting occasional customer bills without a store
- Membership businesses tracking recurring customer payments
- Merchants comparing aggregated collection with direct bank settlement
