What it does
EquityStat is a web-based portfolio tracker for stocks, bonds, ETFs and mutual funds. It combines holdings from different brokerages with dividend and capital-gain records. An account lets you enter investments manually or import transaction history from a CSV file.
EquityStat presents holdings in an upper table and the selected investment's transactions underneath. A summary above the tables shows portfolio value, total return, the day's gain or loss and year-to-date return. Click a column heading to sort either table, or drag a column border to make more room.
After creating an account, choose New Investment and enter the symbol, purchase date, shares and price. For an existing holding, use Add in its transaction table to record another buy, sale or dividend. Hide Sold Investments in the three-line menu removes closed holdings from the active view without discarding their history; View Sold Investments brings them back.
For a larger history, use New > Import Transactions. The CSV format includes Symbol, Date and TranType, with Quantity, Price, Amount and Commission as applicable. Cash dividends use Amount, while purchases need quantity and price. EquityStat displays the proposed transactions before you continue the import, so check reinvestments and commissions against the original records.
Registration asks for an email address, password and name. The tracker runs in a web browser on computers, tablets and phones. Its transaction-based approach suits investors who want to inspect the records behind each holding and compare the portfolio total with individual investments.
