What it does
Amberlight builds abstract light forms by using fields to guide particles. It renders still images and animations, with transparent output for larger compositions.
Arrange a few fields and adjust their position, force, intensity and cut-off to shape the light. The scene supports up to twelve fields. Gradients, variations and waves change the resulting pattern without requiring each trail to be drawn by hand.
From a field arrangement to movement
Move along the timeline and reposition a field to create animation keys. Auto Key can record those changes, while All Fields chooses whether keys affect every field or only the selection. Render a coarse preview before the final output: a higher Raster setting makes the preview faster, with lower visual quality.
Export a still, an image sequence or a video. Hiding the background and saving PNG retains transparency for compositing. Iterative Save creates numbered project versions as the arrangement develops.
Amberlight is sold without a recurring subscription. Internet activation is required, and a personal licence permits multiple computers with only one in use at a time.
Strengths
- Field parameters provide repeatable control over abstract light structures
- Transparent image sequences can become layers in another composition
Watch out for
- Detailed animation renders can take substantial time
Best for
- Abstract backgrounds and animated light effects
