What it does

Ethnio is a participant-recruiting platform for research operations. It combines participant pools, intercepts, screeners, scheduling, consent tracking and incentive administration.

In Studies, choose Create Study, then start blank, clone an existing study or use a saved template. Set the study type and decide which screening, consent, incentive and scheduling steps it needs.

The Design section applies the selected brand to participant-facing pages. Publish through an intercept or a branded study link, then track progress in the Kanban view. Some study types organize work conducted elsewhere: an unmoderated exercise or diary study can use an external research tool while Ethnio manages its participants.

New accounts need a short onboarding call before trial access begins. The trial requires no credit card for the platform, although sending incentives prompts for payment details. Pro supports one to six seats; Enterprise adds the participant Pool and broader team controls. Participant rewards remain an expense even where processing fees are zero.

After a project, you can downgrade to a free plan and retain access to existing data. Remove any installed Ethnio intercept code first if you want to stop paying: pageviews still count while the code is present, even when a screener is turned off.

Strengths

  • Pools, intercepts and screeners support several recruitment routes.
  • Scheduling, consent and incentives connect the practical parts of participation.

Watch out for

  • An onboarding call is required before a new account can use the trial.
  • Installed intercept code continues to incur usage even when studies are switched off.

Best for

  • Research-operations teams coordinating participant recruitment
