What it does
EUscreen brings together television clips, photographs and related material from European broadcasters and audiovisual archives. The portal’s curated collections support research into historical events and everyday life.
Search a subject, then use the left-hand filters for decade, language, provider, genre or country of production. Several filters can be combined, making it possible to compare coverage from a particular period and broadcaster. Curated collections also group material around subjects such as fashion, music and European history.
Open a video to play it and use the copyright symbol beneath the player for its rights information. The heart button saves a bookmark and prompts for a MyEUscreen login; bookmarks can be grouped into collections. Basic search and viewing precede that account step.
Free portal access covers personal, non-commercial viewing and specified activities within EUscreen. It does not grant general download, editing or republication rights. For a new production, check the item’s permission statement or approach the contributing archive about a separately licensed master.
