What it does

ExactScan supports document scanners with built-in drivers and image processing. Its tools include automatic cropping, deskewing, blank-page detection, and multi-page document creation.

Check the scanner model first, then choose a profile for page size, colour and cleanup. Blank pages can be removed or kept as placeholders to preserve sequence. Pro adds searchable-PDF OCR and can apply a saved profile to existing files through New Scan, OCR settings and Open File. Duplex scanners use ADF Duplex; a manual-duplex batch needs a reversed second pass. The current Mac and Windows release offers a 14-day trial. OCR, PDF appending and barcode processing belong to Pro, while PDF/A-1b is an Enterprise feature.
