What it does
Extraset publishes retail type families with stylistic sets, related variants and OpenType guidance. Its site provides trials, format information and custom modification services.
Extraset treats alternate letters as part of choosing a typeface. Its catalog lists both style counts and stylistic-set counts, from ES Park Mono to ES Klarheit's related families. Use those alternatives when a particular letter changes the feel of a wordmark; the site's OpenType guide explains the feature system.
Desktop purchases supply OTF files and start with installation on three computers. Web purchases supply TTF, WOFF and WOFF2, with a one-time fee based on monthly unique visitors and domain count. Select the full family if you need its variable font format. Trial downloads contain fewer characters and are limited to testing and pitching, excluding publication and self-promotion. You cannot edit the retail glyph designs yourself, but Extraset offers custom glyph changes or complete new families.
