What it does
Ezgif is a free online toolkit for creating, editing, resizing and optimizing animated images, including GIF, APNG, WebP, AVIF and JXL.
For a GIF, upload an image sequence, existing animation or ZIP, arrange the frames and set timing before generating and downloading. Delay is measured in hundredths of a second; extra crossfade frames increase file size. The maker permits 200 MB total and 50 MB per frame, and downscales images above 1920×1920 pixels. Optional local processing keeps that operation in the browser with fewer features; unsupported tools send files to the server. Ezgif says server uploads expire after one hour. The maker needs no signup and adds no watermark.
Strengths
- Animation creation and optimization in one toolkit
- Several animated image formats
Watch out for
- The GIF maker downscales frames above 1920×1920 pixels; local mode has fewer features and other tools may upload files.
