What it does

Faceform Wrap fits an existing mesh to a scan or sculpt while retaining the base topology. Its node graph combines alignment, correspondence points and non-rigid fitting for digital doubles and matching facial-expression meshes. Perpetual purchases include a year of updates; the 30-day trial is non-commercial.

Wrap is useful when several scans need the same topology. The base supplies the mesh structure; each scan supplies a shape to match.

Fit a base mesh

  1. Prepare one connected, manifold base. Remove disconnected teeth or eyeballs from the Wrapping input.
  2. Roughly align it with the target, using Rigid Alignment if needed.
  3. Connect the base to Floating Geometry and the target to Fixed Geometry on a Wrapping node. Add Point Correspondences to guide matching.
  4. Use Free Polygons Floating to exclude areas such as eye and mouth sockets from surface fitting.
  5. Enable Auto Compute or press Compute, then inspect the Geometry output. Smoothness changes rigidity; sampling controls change the fitting detail.

The excluded polygons still deform with the surrounding mesh. If removing disconnected parts would disrupt a required vertex order, the documented alternative is to wrap a simpler mesh and use Lattice to deform the original.

Perpetual licences include a year of updates. Indie, Professional node-locked and Professional floating options are offered. Optional annual maintenance costs half the current licence price. Indie eligibility uses a USD 100,000 prior-year revenue ceiling, with additional rules for contractors serving professional customers. The 30-day trial is noncommercial.

Strengths

  • Correspondence points and polygon exclusions guide difficult fits.
  • A common base establishes matching topology across a scan set.

Watch out for

  • The Wrapping input must be one connected, manifold mesh.
  • The trial cannot be used for commercial work.

Best for

  • Digital-double artists transferring an existing topology
  • Teams fitting one facial topology to multiple expressions
