What it does

FAST Graphs visualizes company earnings, cash flow, dividends and valuation alongside market prices. Fundamental investors can examine historical patterns and analyst estimates, while Premium adds screening, broker connections and the Charles research assistant. New subscribers get a seven-day trial without a credit card.

FAST Graphs starts with the business's fundamentals, then adds its market price to the chart. The Historical Graph puts earnings, dividends and valuation measures in one view. The blue Normal P/E line represents the stock's typical price-to-earnings multiple over the selected period; it is distinct from the orange valuation line.

Use the orange timeframe bars or drag the bottom slider to change the period. This recalculates the historical valuation comparisons. Hover over a point for its figures, or click a series name below the chart to hide it. Estimates carry an E label and appear on the right; moving the right slider left can exclude them from a historical comparison.

A return calculation starts by clicking a point on the black price line, then a later point on a supported line. The result breaks down the selected period's performance. For comparisons between businesses, keep the measure and period consistent. Premium's Charles assistant also supports questions about financial statements, chart metrics, screens and portfolio holdings.
