What it does
Fatype publishes families including States, Beausite, UCity, Baton Nouveau and Laplace Mono. It offers evaluation files and combines retail type with custom services.
Beausite organizes its neogrotesque forms into Classic, Fit, Slick and Grand treatments with different stroke contrast. Its family page separates the specimens from Font Info, Trials and Buy. In Buy, choose a licence and then a family package or individual styles, rather than treating each treatment as another weight of the same design.
Fatype’s licences are paid once and do not expire. Standard Desktop covers common design work, but commercial outdoor advertising and trademark registration need broader coverage. The Branding option is built around the end client and can include agencies or freelancers as Brand Partners, as well as websites, apps and hosted design tools. This is a different arrangement from sharing files under an ordinary Standard licence.
The trial download opens a login or registration page. Those files have a limited character set and cannot be used for published projects. Purchased fonts are emailed after payment and are also available from the customer’s orders page. Desktop delivery uses OTF, with TTF available on request; web purchases supply WOFF and WOFF2.
Strengths

- Perpetual licensing is explicitly stated.
- The Branding option provides a defined route for client and agency use.
Watch out for
- Trial files exclude many characters and cannot be published.
- Standard Desktop does not cover commercial outdoor advertising or trademark registration.
Best for
- Editorial and identity type selection
- Brands coordinating designers and several production media
