What it does
FIGlet generates large text lettering from ordinary characters and provides font examples, a font database and a manual.
FIGlet turns command arguments, standard input or piped text into a banner made of ordinary characters. Select a .flf font with -f, set the width with -w, and use -p when incoming paragraph lines should be joined. The default width is 80 columns. Kerning, smushing and full-width modes change how the lettering fits together. Keep the output in a monospaced display so its alignment survives. Right-to-left mode is not a bidirectional text engine, and character coverage depends on the chosen font or control file. Separate ports need not match the main command-line program.
