What it does

Finaloop connects consumer-brand bookkeeping with inventory, purchase orders and financial reports. Brands can use the platform with their own team or purchase managed accounting. Its InventoryIQ add-on follows units and landed costs through the supply chain using first-in, first-out costing.

Finaloop connects a consumer brand's books to the inventory and sales operations behind them. The platform produces profit-and-loss, balance-sheet and cash-flow statements, with product margins providing detail below the company totals.

Choose how inventory costs reach the books

Finaloop supports purchase-based and sales-based cost tracking, alongside InventoryIQ. Sales-based tracking uses the unit costs supplied by the business. InventoryIQ is an add-on that calculates landed costs from purchase records and follows stock by product and warehouse.

Landed cost combines the item cost with relevant freight and other costs of getting it to the warehouse. InventoryIQ uses first-in, first-out (FIFO), so a sale consumes the cost of the oldest available stock first. Opening quantities and unit costs are needed for each product and warehouse, together with historical purchases still in production or transit.

From purchase order to receipt

In Inventory > Supply Chain > Purchase orders, choose +Purchase order. Add the vendor, items, quantities and unit costs, then shipping and other indirect costs. The calculator control lets you switch automatic cost allocation off and allocate manually, for example by weight.

Download the completed order as a PDF or send it to the vendor. Its production and shipment stages determine when inventory reaches the financial records. A shipment marked Received creates a receipt and updates the related order. Partial receipts are supported.

Draft and merely placed orders do not affect the books. The recognition point is configurable, and order changes require an open accounting period.

Trial and pricing

Starter costs $245 per month for brands with annual gross revenue up to $1 million that have traded for four years or less. Larger or more complex businesses receive a quote after discussing their channels and service needs.

The 14-day trial includes the onboarding month and the two previous months of accounting. You can connect apps and inspect the dashboard, orders, inventory, profit and loss, and cash flow. A completed balance sheet comes with a subscription.

Historical catch-up usually has a separate one-time charge, which can be waived when the current year's books are already fully reconciled. Confirm InventoryIQ and the required accounting services in the quote.

Strengths

  • Links inventory movements with product-level margins and financial statements
  • InventoryIQ tracks FIFO costs across products and warehouses
  • Brands can retain their own finance team or use managed accounting

Watch out for

  • InventoryIQ is an add-on rather than the default cost-tracking method
  • Setup needs product and warehouse opening balances plus outstanding historical purchases
  • The trial does not include a completed balance sheet

Best for

  • Consumer brands connecting inventory operations with financial reporting
  • Retail and ecommerce teams that need purchase and landed-cost detail behind gross margins
