What it does

FinArt organizes personal spending from supported bank messages and notifications, with manual entries for cash purchases. Android can be used without registration and offers a five-day trial before paid access. The iPhone app has a free tier and paid automation; features and pricing differ between the platforms.

Correct the record before reading the charts

On Android, use the + button on the home screen and select an account to add a purchase that produced no bank message. Custom categories are edited from the category master list in the app drawer; hashtags on an entry can provide an extra grouping such as a holiday.

FinArt distinguishes Expenses, Income and Others. Refunds reduce Expenses, while transfers and card-bill payments go into Others. That keeps moving money between accounts from looking like another purchase. Account balances depend on the latest message and the account's auto-adjust setting.

For SMS capture, Android needs its SMS permission enabled. Rich chat messages and phone battery restrictions can prevent detection. FinArt also supports email or bank-notification capture, depending on setup.

Platform and payment choices

Android has three paid plan families. Local prices appear on its subscription screen after the trial.

Android plan Purchase choices Scope
Individual Annual or lifetime Personal records
Business Annual or lifetime Includes a separate business profile
Family Annual Two devices

The iPhone Premium subscription is US$2.99 monthly or US$24.99 annually in the US App Store. It adds automatic capture, PDF-statement imports, family view/edit sharing, web access and other paid tools. Its basic app includes manual records and CSV export. A bank login is not needed for the message-based workflow.

Strengths

  • Android can exclude unspent cash-in-hand from expense totals through its settings.
  • A dedicated dues ledger can track money lent to or borrowed from individual people.

Watch out for

  • Automatic capture depends on supported message formats; a missing message can leave a transaction unrecorded.
  • Private Mode can limit cloud synchronization.

Best for

  • People reconciling bank alerts with cash spending
  • Households in India using cards, wallets and UPI payments
